WhatsApp is a chat, phone, and photo-sharing app used by hundreds of millions of people around the world. So it is not surprising that WhatsApp allows you to block users you no longer want to hear from.
Blocking someone on WhatsApp is the best way to stop him from calling or texting you. But if you are the one who is blocked, how can you know?
Unfortunately, there is no direct way to find out if you are blocked on WhatsApp. But there are tricks you can use to find it.
If you are having trouble sending a message to WhatsApp, you may be wondering if it has blocked you. Because WhatsApp allows users to disable features such as “Last seen” and “Online”, someone who thinks you have blocked may have recently tightened his or her privacy. While there is no tool on WhatsApp that will directly tell you that you are blocked, we will show you the signs you can look for to confirm or reduce your suspicions.
Steps 1
Tap the Chat tab below on WhatsApp. At the bottom of the screen. This shows a list of your conversations.
Step 2
Tap a conversation with someone who you think has blocked you. This opens a conversation with that user.
Being able to view chat and send messages to another user does not mean that he has not blocked you.
Step 3
See if the user is online. If the user has WhatsApp currently open and unblocked, you will see the word “Online” at the top of the conversation. [1] If you do not see “On the Internet,” it could mean one of two things: The person does not have WhatsApp open on his screen, or has blocked it.
Just because you do not see the status of a person on the Internet does not mean that you have blocked it — remember, WhatsApp keeps blocking signals anonymously to protect users’ privacy.
Step 4
See the Last Season time stamp. If the user is not currently online, you will usually see “Keeping Visibility” at the top of the conversation, along with the date and last time you opened the app. If you do not recognize this information, it may be because the user has disabled this feature for privacy purposes, or because he or she has blocked it. [2]
If you have the same friend that you have in common with this person, you can ask them if they can see this person’s Last Visibility status (if you feel comfortable doing so). If one friend verifies that the user has not turned off the Save Visibility feature, it is likely to be blocked.
Step 5
Look at the two tags next to the message that was sent. If you send a message to a contact who has not blocked you, you will see two markers to the right of the timestamp – one sign indicates that a message has been sent, and another indicates that it has been delivered. [3] If a second check mark does not appear, you may be blocked. However, you will only see one test marker if the recipient’s phone runs out of service or uninstalled the application.
Step 6
Check profile changes. Tap a person’s name in a conversation to view his or her profile. If you are blocked on WhatsApp, the user profile will never change for you. If you have reason to believe that this user has changed his profile or profile picture and you cannot see the changes, you may be blocked.
Step 7
Try calling someone on WhatsApp. Tapping the phone receiver icon at the top of the conversation starts with a voice call to that user. If the call does not start ringing in the user, it may mean that you have blocked it. However, it may also mean turning off voice calls in their privacy settings.
Check and Save Visibility
If you suspect that something is blocking you, go to their chat window and check out your last appearance or online status. If you are blocked, then here you will not see the last visibility and status of the internet. Read Again – WhatsApp Closes Over 18 Lakh Bad Accounts In India In March
Check out Profile Profile
Personal profile image is also not displayed. Although it is possible for a contact to delete their DP, if the DP is not visible for a long time, then it is possible that someone has blocked it. Read Again – WhatsApp Works To Display Status Updates In Chat List
Check out the Blue Tick in the message
The Blue Tick WhatsApp feature has made it easy. Send a message to anyone who suspects you of being blocked and check if the message has been delivered. Also, green ticks come or not. If one sign appears in your message, be aware that this person is blocking it.
Try WhatsApp Call
You can also check if that person has blocked you by dialing WhatsApp. When the call is connected, you are not blocked. At the same time if the call is offline and blocked.
Group Test
Create a group and add friends to it. Now add a skeptic. If you are blocked by that person, you will receive a message saying you do not have permission to add it.
Delete account
If you feel that the contact has been deleted, go to the WhatsApp chat option to clear this confusion. Now click on that person’s empty DP. When options such as Message and Phone appear, it means the account is not closed. But when the invitation is written, the account has been deleted.
